Greater Noida :: Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) India has commercially launched its new EC650 65-tonne-class mining excavator at Bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, strengthening the company’s portfolio of heavy-duty equipment for India’s rapidly expanding mining and infrastructure sectors.
Powered by Volvo’s D13E engine producing 435 hp, the EC650 has been designed for demanding mass-excavation and mining applications. The machine features a heavy-duty undercarriage, reinforced boom and arm, and advanced hydraulic systems aimed at delivering durability, productivity and fuel efficiency in challenging operating conditions.
The company said the EC650 is available for *immediate deliveries to mining customers as the new buying season begins. The excavator will also be offered through Volvo CE’s Equipment-as-a-Service model, providing customers with an alternative approach to acquiring and operating heavy construction equipment.
Beyond the machine itself, Volvo CE plans to support customers throughout the equipment lifecycle through connected services, productivity solutions, repair and maintenance agreements, and application-focused offerings. These services are intended to improve machine uptime, operational efficiency and overall site performance.
Wide range of equipment on display
Volvo CE has showcased one of its widest equipment line-ups at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026. At the company’s stand in the Construction & Industrial zone, its 20-tonne excavator range—including the EC210, EC215 and EC220 —is being presented for applications such as road construction, urban infrastructure, quarrying and river-bed mining.
The display also includes the EC300 excavator, SD110 and DD90 compactors, and L120 Electric Wheel Loader.
In the Mining zone, the EC480, newly launched EC650 and L150 take centre stage, with Volvo CE focusing on application-based solutions for the mining industry rather than displaying machines solely as individual products.
Focus on building India’s future
The company’s participation at the exhibition also highlights its new campaign, “Aaj Banayein Kal” (Let’s Build Tomorrow, Today)**. The campaign reflects India’s continuing infrastructure development and focuses on the people—including contractors, customers and equipment operators—who are contributing to the country’s growth.
Speaking at the event, Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo Construction Equipment India, said the scale and intensity of India’s mining sector are increasing the demand for machines that can deliver reliable performance while also offering fuel efficiency and operator responsiveness.
“With the EC650, we’re not just adding a machine to our mining line-up—we’re giving India’s mining operators a partner they can rely on for every shift,” Krishnan said, adding that dependable equipment would play an important role in supporting India’s infrastructure and development journey.
