Newsdesk :: Rangakarmee was established in January 1976. The group spearheads Hindi theatre in Kolkata today. Rangakarmee is organising Samanway-9 – Theatre Festival 2021 which started from 06-10 March, 2021 at the Usha Ganguli Mancha, Rangakarmee Studio Theatre. Goutam Ghosh, noted director was felicitated on the inaugural day of the festival and other notable personalities would be felicitated on other days too .
Samanway-9 will be a cultural variety of art forms from varied creative spheres performed on one platform. Art forms like puppetry, mime and plays will be performed by different groups represented by extremely talented artists from different fields.
Samanway was conceptualised by Rangakarmee founder (late) Mrs. Usha Ganguli. With the aim to be a platform where all cultural groups can meet, work and perform in coordination. A platform to promote India’s diverse cultural forms -performing and fine arts. Usha Ganguli, who passed away in April 2020, had immense passion and spirit for theatre, her absence will be felt deeply by one and all.
The last day event schedule will be follows with Director Anik Ghosh’s play, Balai performed by Jadavpur Manthan. Director Sujan Mukhopadhyay’s play, Girgiti performed by Chetana group.
